Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Mercedes earned her B.A. in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Bloomsburg University. She started her communications career creating innovative campaigns and branding strategies for various B2B and B2C tech, corporate and entertainment brands.

Prior to joining BAM, Mercedes was an account director in the consumer technology division at full-service public relations agency 5WPR in New York City.

Mercedes drives the strategy and oversees the day-to-day activities for BAM’s B2C accounts, creating tactical campaigns in support of their business goals.

Best part of Mercedes’ role:  I love working with startups and entrepreneurs who dare to disrupt their industries. Being able to develop their PR campaigns, offer my expertise for bigger picture strategy and be a trusted voice in the success of their business makes my job worthwhile.

What Mercedes reads:  You’ll catch me reading the latest in tech news from WIRED, TechCrunch and PSFK. During my daily commute, I tend to circulate one of my favorite self-help books: Ego Is The Enemy, You Are a Badass, The 48 Laws of Power or The Power of Now.

One top career highlight:  My client was looking for my team’s PR efforts to assist them in closing a Series B round of funding. With less than two days before the big meeting, I was able to secure a product placement opportunity with Good Morning America. Not only did the segment help the client close a 17 million dollar round of funding but it helped the company triple their sales for the quarter.
