Judene joined the BAM team as Chief of Staff and Head of Relationships in 2018. Originally from Clarendon, Jamaica, Judene emigrated to the U.S.A in her youth. She studied Sociology, theatre, and dance at Trinity College in Hartford, CT and later continued her educations at Mills College in Oakland, CA where she earned an MFA in Choreography and Performance. She managed her own dance company and taught dance at Mills College.
Before joining BAM, Judene worked as the right hand to the CEO and Operations Manager at uBeam, a consumer electronics startup in Los Angeles. She was an integral member of the fundraising team, business development team and managed company operations.
Judene has a wealth of experience working with Silicon Valley startups, VCs, and traditional financial firms including Lehman Brothers and Perry Capital LLC. She strives to find the intersections between technology, the arts, and creativity.
The best part of Judene’s role: Getting to interact with individuals from different walks of life. I get to work with creative, tech-savvy, brilliant individuals every day and learn about how technology is radically changing the way we interact with the world.
What Judene reads: I read many newsletters and curated news, but my favorite thing to do is listen to the Joe Budden Podcast on Spotify. I feel like a kid again waiting for the episodes to air on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
One top career highlight: I am proud of a lot of things, I am a result oriented individual. Highlights: Dancing at Jacobs Pillow, closing a multi-million dollar funding round and being mentioned in the NYT.
